I am SO relieved to say that we have got planning permission to turn our field into a dog walking and training field!
It was always a risk when starting this journey that we wouldn’t get planning permission, or that it’d be so restrictive it wouldn’t be viable. And after following other people’s journeys, there really was a possibility that we’d have to sell up and move on.
But with the help of the lovely Sarah at Dowsett Mayhew we got it!
We will be able to offer you:
- Exclusive use of a roughly 3.5 acre area, contained within 6ft fencing.
- 2 parking spaces within the 6ft fence, so no need to even put your dog on a lead if you don’t want to!
- A wooden field shelter, in case you need to hide from the glorious British weather.
- Plus some extra features are in the pipeline for the future too!
We’ll be open from 8am - 8pm (or dusk if earlier) and you’ll be able to bring up to 6 dogs with you per session.
Now the hard work really begins as I try to organise contractors to come in and turn the dream into a reality!
If you have any features you’d like to see in the field, let me know in the comments below. If it’s possible, I will add it to my list!
With love,
Gemma and the Field for Dogs Team 🐾
